The Australian Turf Club hosts back-to-back meetings at Royal Randwick this week – starting with the traditional Boxing Day meeting, one of the biggest racedays of the year in Sydney.
The Group 3 $250,000 Yulong Summer Cup is the feature race on Friday’s Boxing Day eight-race program as Sydney’s Summer Festival of Racing continues through a busy schedule.
After Boxing Day, Saturday sees a 10-race card at Royal Randwick followed by a twilight meeting at Canterbury on New Year’s Day and the running of the Listed $200,000 Canterbury Sprint.
Friday’s Boxing Day meeting attracts one of the biggest general admission attendances of the year with tickets available at theraces.com.au
Australian Turf Club Interim CEO Steve McMahon said ATC staff and racing industry participants would be working hard through the festive season to add extra cheer for racegoers.
“Christmas and New Year is a wonderful time for ATC Members and our customers to share time with family and friends in a festive atmosphere,’’ Mr McMahon said.
“Boxing Day at Royal Randwick has built a new tradition with an Irish and international flavour as large groups of those communities make for a vibrant raceday.
“We also look forward to Saturday at Royal Randwick and then on New Year’s Day free entry into Canterbury Park, along with a host of food stalls and free entertainment for families to welcome in 2026.’’

Friday Boxing Day at Royal Randwick: Members 12pm, General Admission 12.30pm, and Race 1 at 1.35pm
Saturday at Royal Randwick: Members 11am, General Admission 11.15am, Race 1 at 12.35pm.
New Year’s Day Canterbury Park (free entry): Members 11.30pm, General Admission 1.45pm, Race 1 at 2.40pm.
