Australian Turf Club is thrilled to announce platinum recording artists Birds of Tokyo will perform a free concert for racegoers on Longines Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 24 March.

Birds of Tokyo will perform a free and exclusive, 45-minute concert after the last race, in the Railway Forecourt – part of Rosehill Gardens’ recent $28 million refurbishment.

Punters will be able to enjoy critically acclaimed rock anthems ‘Plans’, ‘Wild At Heart’ and ‘This Fire’, as well as multi-platinum single ‘Lanterns’.

Five lucky racegoers and their guests will also have the chance to win a meet and greet opportunity with the band on the day via an ATC social media competition where they will be able to have merchandise signed and photos with the five band members.

Of the upcoming performance, Adam Weston, Birds of Tokyo drummer said “We have been holed up in the studio for a couple of months with 100% focus on new material, so it’s going to be a great dynamic for us to belt out some older songs like ‘Plans’ and ‘Lanterns’ along with a couple of newer tracks like ‘Brace’ and ‘Empire’”.

Australian Turf Club Acting Chief Executive, James Heddo said that the performance by Birds of Tokyo is a great finale for Longines Golden Slipper Day.

“Birds of Tokyo are one of the Australia’s most popular bands and it is fitting that they perform on the biggest day of racing in Australia, Longines Golden Slipper Day which features the running of the world’s richest race for two-year-olds, the Longines Golden Slipper”, said Heddo.

Adult General Admission tickets are available for pre-purchase at theATC.com.au starting from $20.40.

The popular Punters Pack will also be on offer on Longines Golden Slipper Day for $39.00 which will include race course entry, two standard drinks, a food pack, reserved seating in the grandstand, a racebook, complimentary travel on Transport NSW Services and access to the Punters Pack area within the Chantilly Bar.
