One of Bart Cummings’ greatest champions, Saintly, will be on course at Royal Randwick tomorrow as part of the Australian Turf Club’s special tribute to the legendary trainer.
The horse who won the Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate double in 1996 is due to arrive at Royal Randwick just after midday, and will be in race day stall 23, which denotes his age and the number of starts he had on track.
The public is welcome to view Saintly before he is taken to the front of the track and paraded on the course proper ahead of a minute’s silence around 1.25pm for Bart, and prior to the race named in his honour tomorrow, the JB Cummings AM Tribute Ming Dynasty Quality.
The jockey who rode Saintly to his greatest successes – Darren Beadman – will also be on course for the minute’s silence, along with members of the Cummings family.
Saintly will be then returned to the race day stall and will leave Royal Randwick after the Vale JB Cummings AM Ming Dynasty Quality.
