The Australian Turf Club’s Rosehill Gardens hosts Australia’s biggest charity raceday this Saturday – ASX Thomson Reuters Charity Raceday – with three Group races including the Group 3 $150,000 Singapore Airlines San Domenico Stakes.
More than 1500 people will attend a special raceday function in the Grand Pavilion this Saturday in support of 22 children’s disability and medical research charities.
ASX Thomson Reuters Charity Foundation aims to raise $200,000 from Saturday’s raceday as part of $1 million it will distribute to charities this year.
Amongst the charities to be supported is the National Jockeys Trust.
Sponsors and partners supporting the nine-race card on Saturday include Singapore Airlines, Visit Monaco, FIIG, New Caledonia Travel Connection, Pacific Boating, Hachem Management Group, Lindt Chocolates and CEO Magazine.
The Singapore Airlines San Domenico Stakes is another key lead-up to Rosehill Gardens’ $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes on 22 September.
The Chris Waller trained Performer to be ridden by Hugh Bowman is the $3.70 TAB Fixed Odds favourite, ahead of trainer James Cummings’ promising Godolphin colt Plague Stone ($4.20 TAB Fixed Odds).
Many of the runners on Saturday remain in the top brackets of the TAB.com.au market for the De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose.
The Group 3 $150,000 Visit Monaco Ming Dynasty Quality could also further shape markets for the De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose, with the Tim Martin trained Danawi the early $3.80 TAB Fixed Odds favourite.
The Group 3 $150,000 New Caledonia Travel Connection Premier’s Cup features a strong field including Godolphin’s boom import Avilius ($1.85 TAB Fixed Odds) favourite, to be ridden by Glyn Schofield.
Full markets for all races at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday are available at www.tab.com.au
Saturday will also see an appearance by one of Australia’s most popular and decorated sprinters Chautauqua in a special barrier trial between races three and four.
Chautauqua needs to perform to the satisfaction of Racing NSW stewards on Saturday and in a second barrier trial at a later date if he is to continue on a path to the world‘s richest race on turf, the $13 million Everest at Royal Randwick on 13 October.
Rosehill Gardens was rated a Good 4 on Thursday morning.
A video with Rosehill Gardens Track Manager Shaun Patterson is available here https://youtu.be/y2-MzbT_9TY where Shaun talks about the ongoing challenges of managing the driest winter he has seen in his 12 years at the track.
Tickets for all ATC racedays and Everest Carnival are now on sale, and offer up to 20 per cent discounts for early bookings, and further discounts for group bookings.
Rosehill Gardens and all ATC racecourses provide free parking and free high capacity WiFi.
