JULES ROBINSON NAMED EVEREST CARNIVAL FASHION STAKES AMBASSADOR
September 10, 2021
With the start of Sydney’s world-famous Everest Carnival just over a week away on Fujitsu General George Main Stakes Day, the Australian Turf Club’s exciting national online Fashion Stakes competition returns bigger and better than ever.
Whether celebrating your raceday from home or potentially enjoying a day trackside, stylish racing fans can win a share of $20,000 in cash and prizes from Dyson, Chandon, FIGUR, Runway Room, Jo Malone London and White Claw. Entrants can simply upload a photo or video of themselves in racewear to australianturfclub.com.au/fashionstakes across the following three racedays:
– Fujitsu General George Main Stakes Day, Royal Randwick, Saturday 18 September
– Everest Day, Royal Randwick, Saturday 16 October
– Golden Eagle Day, Rosehill Gardens, Saturday 30 October
To help celebrate and promote Fashion Stakes, wife, mother and entrepreneur Jules Robinson has joined the Australian Turf Club as Fashion Stakes Ambassador. The 39-year-old TV personality, best known for being relatable and honest on Married At First Sight, empowering women with her shapewear line FIGUR and co-launching The Juggling Act podcast, is thrilled with the appointment.
“Having experienced racedays at Royal Randwick and Royal Ascot, I genuinely love the races and adore fashion, so to be offered the role as Fashion Stakes Ambassador this Everest Carnival is a perfect match,” Jules said.
“I’ll be judging Fashion Stakes on Everest Day so will be looking for originality, a quirky feature and confidence in women and men who dress to their unique body. There’s also a new household category so that will be fun to see how family or friends living in the same household pull their outfits together, if they are not on-course.”
Always looking the part and sharing her journey along the way, Jules’ key piece of styling advice is to dress to your personality and aim for a balanced look.
“My top fashion tip is to have fun, dress to your personality and balance your overall look with makeup, hairstyle and headwear. When it comes to taking a decent selfie, my advice is to face towards the light, tilt your head to the side, hold your phone slightly higher up and facing down and then click away.”
Australian Turf Club Stylist Donny Galella will join Jules as Resident Fashion Stakes Judge, which will see the popular celebrity stylist run an expert eye across contestant outfits during each of the three racedays.
“Spring is my favourite time of year and this season there are many glorious colours to take advantage of including red, pink, mango, emerald, blue and gold metallic hues,” Donny explains.
“We’ll also be seeing voluminous sleeves, ruffles, bold and floral patterns, while men’s suiting is all about trying new shades such as khaki or olive and mixing it up with a cool blazer and pant combination, while adding details such as a tie, pocket square and pattern socks.
“As Resident Fashion Stakes Judge I’m a sucker for detail so will be zooming in on things like headwear, shoes, clutch, grooming, and looking at how well overall outfit tones work together.”
Open from 7am to 2pm across the three racedays, Fashion Stakes encourages fun, diversity and inclusion for all.
To enhance your raceday experience from home, delicious Tastes from The Track Hampers curated by Australian Turf Club’s award-winning chefs are available for purchase with optional beverage upgrades from Moét & Chandon, Heineken, XXXX and Kosciuszko to complement Group 1 Saturday action on Channel 7 live and free, or via Sky Racing.
