September 24, 2021
The Australian Turf Club’s partnership with internationally renowned racing and bloodstock sales group Keeneland continues at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens this Saturday, 25 September under a renewed three-year partnership between both organisations.
In addition to a long-standing partnership with some of Sydney’s premier races for two-year-olds, Keeneland has partnered with the prestigious Group 2 $400,000 Keeneland Golden Pendant for fillies and mares over 1400m at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
The Group 2 Keeneland Golden Pendant continues to develop as a premier spring pathway race and one targeted by trainers, owners and breeders across Australia and New Zealand.
Following this Saturday’s XXXX Golden Rose Day, Keeneland will again be sponsoring the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes for 2YO Fillies on TAB Epsom Day at Royal Randwick.
Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross said: “Keeneland is one of the world’s largest and most prominent global thoroughbred auction houses and is an industry leader in the racing industry hosting its own world-class racing program.
“ATC is proud to continue our association with Keeneland who have continued to support Australian racing so strongly.
“The benefits of this support are becoming increasingly apparent with a growing number of imported US bred mares having an important impact on the Australian racing industry.
“This partnership is a further example of the number of global partners that are now taking part in Sydney’s growing Spring and Everest Carnival which delivers nearly $50M in prizemoney.’’
Keeneland’s Australasian representative Barry Bowditch said: “Whether it be a trainer, owner or breeder, the Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes at Royal Randwick rewards connections of the best two-year-old speed fillies with important Stakes success and further progression into some of the world’s most important races for two-year-olds.
“Our long-standing partnership with the Australian Turf Club reiterates our commitment to breeders, owners and stakeholders in the Australian thoroughbred racing and breeding industry.”
