The Australian Turf Club has cut food and drink prices across the board for Members and all Sydney racing fans by up to 33 per cent, ahead of the start of the 2017 Sydney Carnival this Saturday.

The new prices for more than 70 lines of food and beverage products begin at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday at the launch of the Longines Golden Slipper Carnival.

The price cuts will be permanent at all ATC racecourses all year round.

Australian Turf Club Chairman Laurie Macri and Chief Executive Officer Darren Pearce said on track patrons will enjoy prices in line with pubs and clubs across Sydney.

The range and value of food and drink products are also amongst the best of any sporting stadium, or metropolitan racecourse, in Australia.

The Australian Turf Club has been able to reduce prices due to its strong ongoing financial performance, bringing further surplus returns to its Members, racing fans and families, and industry participants.

Members of the ATC will receive even greater discounts than general admission customers.

Tooheys New and XXXX Gold beers on tap will drop to just $5 each, soft drinks and bottled still and sparkling water will fall 25 per cent to just $3 for Members and $3.50 public, while a range of sparkling, red and white wines will drop by between $5 and $7 a bottle.

Some of the food items include Hot Roast Rolls down to $9 from $12 (25 per cent), Vili’s Pastry Pies to $4, Vili’s Sausage Rolls from $6 to $4 for public customers (33 per cent) and hot chips to $5 a tray.

Mr Macri said the ATC wanted to offer Members, families, punters and all race fans greater value for money during a day at the track.

“The thrill of watching live thoroughbred racing has become even more affordable with these price cuts to all of our food and drink options,’’ Mr Macri said.

“These prices bring us right in line with pubs and clubs, and our facilities at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick for Members and the public are second to none.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this extra value for money in time for our 2017 Carnival at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick.

“We are especially pleased to be able to go even further for our Members, our most passionate racing fans.’’
