The Australian Turf Club has joined the racing community in paying tribute to Warwick farm-based trainer Rick Worthington.

Mr Worthington, a board member of the NSW Trainers Association and also president of the Warwick Farm Trainers Association, lost a lengthy battle with cancer.

As well as being an accomplished trainer, Mr Worthington was highly regarded across the industry for his work in breaking-in and pre-training racehorses.

Australian Turf Club Chief Executive Jamie Barkley extended the thoughts of the Club’s Members and staff.

“Rick was not only very well respected but was a very popular person amongst his peers and the wider racing industry,” Mr Barkley said.

“The Australian Turf Club extends its sympathies to Mr Worthington’s family and colleagues at this sad time.”
