AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB SIGNS NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMED HUNTER VALLEY STUD FARM KIA ORA

October 5, 2022

The Australian Turf Club has signed a new partnership with one of the Hunter Valley’s most established and renowned breeding organisations Kia Ora, including joining with one of Sydney’s biggest Group 1 sprint races.

The new partnership with Kia Ora will see it support the Group 1 Kia Ora Galaxy run at Rosehill Gardens during the Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Kia Ora – which first began Thoroughbred breeding in 1914 – currently stands amongst its roster emerging stallions in Longines Golden Slipper winner Farnan, Champagne Stakes winner Captivant and dual-Group winning sprinter Prague.

In recent years Kia Ora has bred Group 1 winners in Wild Ruler, Loving Gaby and Wellington.

Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross said the new partnership further strengthened Sydney racing’s ties with the world-renowned Hunter Valley in NSW.

“We are delighted to welcome Kia Ora to the Australian Turf Club including joining with one of the Sydney Autumn’s most sought-after Group 1 races for the sprinters,’’ Mr Ross said.

“Kia Ora is one of the nation’s foundation breeding operations and carries a long history in breeding winners across many of Australia’s biggest and most famous races.

“We thank them for their support for the Group 1 Kia Ora Galaxy at Rosehill Gardens and look forward to sharing in the success of their high-quality stallion roster in the future.”

Kia Ora begins its new partnership with the Australian Turf Club this Saturday as part of the 10-race Silver Eagle Raceday at Royal Randwick.
