The Australian Turf Club’s Christmas Community Raceday at Royal Randwick has won the support of a range of partners and community organisations ahead of the Club’s special twilight meeting.

The seven-race program on Friday, 4 December features a host of free family activities and also aims to raise funds through the ATC Foundation for the Sony Foundation’s Holiday Camp to help disabled children and their families.

Naming rights for all of the races have been taken by Schweppes, City Tattersalls, De Bortoli Wines, Bisley Workwear, Longines, Taylors Construction and Ranvet.

Sydney Commercial Interiors, an interior design and fit-out specialist with the Australian Turf Club, has also contributed to the ATC Foundation cause.

The ATC partner recently completed a major refurbishment across the Official Stand at Royal Randwick along with other works across ATC racecourses.

Patrons and businesses can donate to the ATC Foundation here, with a gold coin donation drive also being planned on course at Royal Randwick on 4 December.

Randwick City Council is another partner of the raceday, which will include a spectacular entry by Santa and helpers into the Theatre Of The Horse, lighting of a 10m-high Christmas tree by legendary Royal Randwick trainer Gai Waterhouse, and a free Christmas Carol concert after the last race by popular singer Samantha Jade.

The ARIA-Award winning singer, songwriter and actress will sing eight classic carols from her new Christmas album, The Magic of Christmas.

Australian Turf Club Foundation Chairman Phil Morley said the Club was thrilled with the response.

“The ATC Foundation continues to raise much-needed funds for community organisations and the Sony Foundation’s Holiday Camp is another wonderful organisation for disabled children and families,” Mr Morley said.

“We thank all of our partners for being a part of this special raceday which comes toward the end of what has been a very difficult year for so many people.

“Every single dollar raised by the ATC Foundation including at the Christmas Community Raceday is fully directed to charitable and community organisations.”
