The Australian Turf Club has joined the racing community in paying tribute to Margaret Quinton, wife of champion jockey and trainer Ron, after her sudden passing yesterday.

Mrs Quinton has played a pivotal role in Ron’s career, including in recent years managing the business administration and operations of his Royal Randwick training stables.

Australian Turf Club Chairman Laurie Macri today extended the Club’s condolences to the Quinton family.

“The ATC has been deeply saddened  to hear of Margaret’s passing,’’ Mr Macri said.

“Margaret was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a big part in the success of Ron’s stable.

“We extend our condolences and full support to Ron and the children during this difficult time.’’
