ATC Foundation Sends $205,000 to Charities Helping Racing and Community Groups

The ATC Foundation has released a seventh round of grants – totalling $205,000 – to assist the racing industry and community groups around the Club’s four racecourses.
The funding to successful applicants – ranging in grants from $5,000 to $35,000 – brings to a total of more than $1.2 million distributed since the ATC Foundation was established in 2018.
Funds were raised via on-course donations and activities such as charity events, the sale of official Carnival pins along with saddlecloth auctions from a number of Group 1 Australian Turf Club races.
ATC Foundation Chair Angela Belle McSweeney said the Board had also approved several two-year partnerships for funding aligned with key racing industry bodies the National Jockeys Trust, Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy and Equine Pathways Australia.
“The ATC Foundation is inviting applicants across NSW charities and we are always especially pleased to collaborate with the racing industry,’’ Ms McSweeney said.
“On behalf of the ATC Foundation Board and our Club and Members, I thank everyone who has donated or purchased special merchandise to allow us to continue such important work for so many diverse groups.’’

| Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy Inc. (ARCC) | $35,000 | Support a Chaplain for Women in Sydney who will attend courses in Sydney a few mornings a week and a race meeting once a fortnight. |

| The Trustee for Centennial Parklands Foundation | $5,000 | Financial support to develop 35 volunteer programs, ‘Connecting Communities through Conservation’, within Centennial Park. |
| Steps Retreats Australia Ltd (trading as The Sydney Retreat) | $10,000 | Support 2 people to have a recovery experience in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) at the Sydney Retreat. |
| Nurture Nation Animal Sanctuary Inc | $5,000 | Equipment funding including fencing upgrades to contain livestock, horses and our rescue maremmas. |
| CanRevive Inc. | $10,000 | Grant funding to support the comprehensive educational program with a focus on cognitive- behavioural therapy (CBT) training, psychoeducational community talks, nutrition. workshops, sensory activities, and more to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. |
| Project Kindness | $10,000 | Contribution to initial rent payment for a Community Hub in Randwick LGA. The community hub will be home to Project Kindness which distributes ‘Kindness Hampers’ of groceries and essential household items and each one is packed to meet the requirements of the recipient. |
| The Deli Women and Children’s Centre | $15,000 | Providing domestic violence counselling and casework for women who have been impacted by gambling related violence in Randwick region. |
| Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation | $10,000 | The project seeks to purchase core equipment to advance eye care with the equipment becoming a permanent fixture in community clinics. |
| Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare (AWCH) | $10,000 | The funding will be allocated towards recruiting and training new local volunteers, establishing the program infrastructure in the new hospitals, and providing necessary resources for meaningful interactions between ward grandparents and young patients in Liverpool Hospital. |
| Cancer Patients Foundation | $5,000 | Provide access for 50 people to attend the Look Good Feel Better program during their cancer treatment in the Liverpool area. |
| Learning Links | $10,000 | Learning Links psychologists will work with vulnerable children weekly to address a variety of conditions and concerns including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger management and poor social skills in Oatlands Primary School which is 3kms from RHG. |
| Heartbeat of Football Foundation Limited | $5,000 | ATC grant funding will allow us to conduct 3 x Heart Health Awareness & Testings (HHT) at community sporting clubs/grounds within the Parramatta LGA. |
| McGrath Foundation | $5,000 | Supporting Murray’s Walk to raise funds for breast cancer nurses. |
| Redkite | $10,000 | Funding to support parents and carers of children with cancer at Westmead Hospital by providing vital emotional support and connection to relevant support services. |
| Cornucopia Committee through Sydney Children’s Hospital | $5,000 | Supporting those affected by child abuse by providing funding to Child Protection Units across Sydney Hospital. |
| Black and White Committee through Vison Australia | $10,000 | Funding through Vision Australia’s Children’s Services to provide a range of support, counselling, therapy and training services free of charge to children with blindness and low vision and their families. |
