ATC Director Steve Grant, after much consideration, has with great regret informed Chairman Michael Crismale and his Board colleagues that he will stand down as an ATC Director.
Mr Grant has made the decision primarily due to the extra demands of his successful business ventures.
As a result of his full time work and family schedule, he has been finding it increasingly difficult to devote the considerable time and effort required as an ATC Director.
The Board and ATC Chief Executive Officer Darren Pearce acknowledge the professionalism, commitment and success of his role, particularly in relation to his expertise with property and development.
His love of racing, and his considerable contribution as an owner, are also recognised.
Mr Grant, who has been an ATC Director since February 2014, as well as a Member of the AJC, STC and ATC for more than 20 years. Mr Grant’s last ATC Board meeting was on Monday 7 March.
Mr Grant said: “I’m very sad to be leaving the Board of the ATC, but I just can’t continue to give them the time the role deserves.
“I’m excited and confident about the direction that the ATC is heading in, and as a long-time Member and racing fan, I’m sure the club is well poised for future success.”
Mr Pearce said: “It’s an exciting time for Sydney racing, with the ATC entering a growth and investment phase.
“Steve’s ideas, passion and business expertise has helped to place the ATC in a great position for that future.
“On behalf of the Board, Executive and staff, and ATC Members, we wish Steve well, and thank him immensely for his contribution.
“We especially look forward to continuing to see him regularly at the track.’’
As per the ATC Constitution, a replacement to fill the “casual vacancy” on the Board will be announced in due course.
