ATC AND RACING NSW CELEBRATES ICONIC WINX STAND’S 12-MONTH ANNIVERSARY

The Australian Turf Club (ATC) and Racing NSW will celebrate the 12-month anniversary of the official opening of the $46.6 million WINX Stand at the Royal Randwick Christmas Festival on Friday 2 December, with free Winx-inspired vanilla cupcakes for racegoers in the iconic venue.
Named in honour of legendary race mare Winx who won 33 consecutive races, including 25 at Group 1 level and 28 victories in Sydney, the state-of-the-art WINX Stand was built to create a world-class venue and experience for all racegoers year-round as part of their ticket purchase to Royal Randwick.
WINX Stand was also designed to cement Royal Randwick’s reputation as the pre-eminent venue for Sydney’s meetings and events, evidenced this week by the exclusive Universo Ferrari exhibition, the first time the world-renowned Italian luxury vehicle and motorsport brand held this prestigious event outside of Italy.
It supported an additional 55,000 visitors and 82 non-raceday events held in the stunning two-storey venue since December 2021.

- 8,800 Champagne corks popped
- 84,000 beers served
- 16,000 burgers served
- 44,870 french fries served
- 26,700 pies and sausage rolls served
- 2,573 thoroughbred race starters
- 20 Group 1 winners including one dead heat
- Anamoe winning the 2022 Winx Stakes and Fujitsu General George Main Stakes – the only horse to snare two Group 1 victories within 12 months at Royal Randwick
- 40 DJ sets
