The Chairman of the Australian Turf Club, Mr Michael Crismale, today announced a new director has been appointed to the Club’s board to fill the casual vacancy left by former director Steve Grant.
Phillip Morley – who has been a Member of the ATC since 2011 (and a previous member of the STC) will serve the balance of Mr Grant’s term, which expires in February 2018.
Mr Morley has owned and raced thoroughbred horses for more than 20 years, and has served as a Director on the NSW Racehorse Owners Association committee.
He has extensive business experience, and has held senior executive positions in the food industry, including at Woolworths, Coles and Dairy Farm International, as well as serving on a number of grocery industry boards and committees.
Mr Crismale said Mr Morley was an avid racegoer who brought to the Board a great passion for racing, along with the interests of ATC Members and the Club’s customers.
“I welcome Phillip to the ATC Board as we continue to progress our plans to make Sydney racing amongst the strongest in the world,’’ Mr Crismale said.
“Phillip’s knowledge and love of racing, combined with his understanding of the racing industry and its challenges, will help to serve the interests of ATC Members and our racing all year round.’’
Mr Morley’s appointment to the ATC Board is effective immediately.
