An International Racing Legacy
Sydney is one of the premier racing destinations with a large number of the world’s richest races conducted over two feature racing carnivals each year.
The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is the most historic celebration of Thoroughbred racing, with $46 million in prizemoney on offer across March and April in 2026.
The Sydney Everest Carnival boasts an impressive $87 million in prizemoney with 10 weeks of the highest quality of racing anywhere in the world, highlighted by the $20 million TAB Everest and $10 million Golden Eagle.
International racing is a great addition to Sydney that adds important depth to carnivals. In recent years there have been some international superstars that have experienced success, with Obamburumai taking out the 2023 $10 million Golden Eagle as well as Dubai Honour winning both the Ranvet Stakes and 2023 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Dubai Honour was ridden by Tom Marquand and prepared by William Haggas – the same formidable combination that famously won the 2020 and 2021 Queen Elizabeth Stakes with Addeybb.
