Royal Randwick is well serviced by public transport with a light rail station and purpose-built bus terminal at the racecourse main entrance on Alison Road.
The racecourse is located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and is approximately 6km from Sydney CBD and 8km from Sydney Airport.
Light Rail
L2 – Circular Quay/Central direct to Royal Randwick
L3 – Circular Quay/Central to Kensington
The Royal Randwick stop is located on Alison Road which is opposite the racecourse main entrance.
Services run regularly from 5:00am until 1:00am on weekdays and weekends. During major racedays and events, additional services will also run.
Buses
Plenty of regular buses also run between the City and Eastern Suburbs via Anzac Parade and Alison Road to Randwick Racecourse, including routes 339, 373, 374, 376 and 377.
Taxis
Taxis enter Royal Randwick through the Ascot Street entrance where there is a secure taxi rank for set-down and collection.
HIRE CAR DROP OFF & COLLECTION
Hire Car set down and pick-up is via the Alison Road busway. Click here to view a map. Please follow instructions from attendants. Hire cars are advised that there is a strict 15 minute waiting period.
Please note that any taxis, ride share and hire cars are not permitted to stop on Alison Road or Doncaster Avenue.
Any stretch limousine set-down and collection is in the infield car park (access via High Street).

FREE PARKING
There is free car parking in the infield car park. Entry to the infield car park is via High Street, opposite UNSW. Infield carpark tunnel is 3.1m high.
Members Car Parking
MEMBERS’ CAR PARK AND COACHES (SELECTED RACEDAYS ONLY)
The Members’ Coach service runs for the comfort and convenience of Australian Turf Club Members. Seats on the coach must be purchased by Friday midday prior to the raceday.
ASCOT STREET CAR PARK
Accessed via Ascot Street off Doncaster Road, Royal Randwick’s multi-deck Ascot Street car park is available to Members with Yearly Reserved Car Parking Passes.

Casual Parking at Royal Randwick
Conveniently located in the heart of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, the Ascot multi-level car park at Royal Randwick offers easy, secure parking.
Whether you’re visiting the racecourse, attending an event, or simply need a well-connected place to park in Randwick, our car park provides direct access to light rail and bus services.
• Casual weekday parking: $15 per day
• From 1 August 2026: $20 per day
• Open Monday to Friday and on selected racedays
• Not available on Saturday racedays or The Big Dance on Cup Day
• Easy access to public transport including the L2 and L3 light rail routes
Ideal for commuters, local workers and visitors, the Ascot car park is a practical option for all day parking in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, with seamless connections to the CBD and surrounding areas.
Disabled & Accessible Car Parking
Disabled car parking is available in the infield car park, with entry via High Street opposite UNSW.
A disabled parking sticker must be prominently displayed in the vehicle at all times.
A shuttle service into the racecourse can be arranged on arrival at the infield entrance.
Private Coaches and Mini Buses
The designated set-down and pick-up area for private coaches over 3.1m high is located on the Eastern Side of Darley Road, outside TAFE NSW Randwick.
Mini buses over 3.1m high are also to use this private coach designated parking area.
Mini buses under 3.1m high are to use the infield car park for all set-downs, pick-ups and parking. Access via High Street.
Helicopter Transfers
Arrive in style to Sydney’s most celebrated racing destination.
Helicopter landings at Royal Randwick are available with prior approval only and must be arranged directly through the ATC.
While we can recommend reputable providers such as Sydney Helicopters, all landing enquiries must be submitted via our Reception team and are subject to operational availability and approval.
