Free Tickets To Rosehill Gardens On Offer For Western Metro Clubs

The Australian Turf Club is offering a special complimentary entry ticket package to Members of a host of Western Metro clubs for Saturday’s Rosehill Gardens meeting.

Members of clubs in the region have received a link to redeem up to four general admission tickets for Saturday’s feature day at Rosehill Gardens.

Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL, Smithfield RSL, Bankstown Sports, Mounties Group, Campbelltown Catholic Club, Wests Group Macarthur and Merrylands RSL are among Clubs partnering with the raceday.

The Group 3 $250,000 Smithfield RSL San Domenico Stakes – with the return of TAB Golden Slipper winner Guest House – and Group 3 $250,000 Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Up and Coming Stakes are the features of a 10-race card.

Both races are pathway events to the Group 1 $1 million Yulong Golden Rose to be run at Rosehill Gardens on 26 September.

Australian Turf Club CEO Steve McMahon said Members of Western Metro clubs were being encouraged to enjoy live trackside action.

“A day at the races with the live atmosphere of horse racing and entertainment is an exciting and unique event to enjoy with family and friends,’’ Mr McMahon said.

“We are throwing open the gates in a special promotion for a wide spread of the Western Metro community via their Club Memberships.

“You have to be there for it for the best way to have fun, enjoy a drink and a bet and hopefully back a few winners trackside.’’

A raceday function will be held in the Grand Pavilion on Saturday to raise funds and awareness for the Little Wings organisation.

Little Wings – which has been the official charity partner since 2018 – transports children from remote areas across NSW to Westmead Hospital for repeat treatment.

Clubs NSW Western Metropolitan Region President Bill Treloar said Little Wings would receive a $30,000 donation as part of Saturday’s event.

“We are delighted to again join with the ATC for our 36^th consecutive year for a hugely popular raceday which will raise funds and awareness for Little Wings and a range of other charities,’’ Mr Treloar said.

“We have always believed clubs are very much part of our community and as such should participate in helping not-for-profit and sporting charities within the region.’’

Blue Door for Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker and jockey Tommy Berry opens a $2 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in the Group 3 $250,000 Smithfield RSL San Domenico Stakes, which has attracted a top field of three-year-olds.

Guest House – first up from his TAB Golden Slipper glory – is at $4.60 TAB for trainers Mick Price and Michale Kent Jr, and his slipper-winning jockey Zac Lloyd.

Warwoven – a stablemate of the favourite and with Rachel King to ride – is at $5.50 TAB Fixed Odds.

The Group 3 $250,000 Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Up and Coming Stakes sees a wide open market with Savagram (Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott) and jockey Tim Clark at $4.40 TAB Fixed ahead of its stablemate Plagiarism (jockey Regan Bayliss) at $4.60.

Saturday’s 10-race card begins at 11.45am with the last race due to jump at 5.05pm.
