Owners And Horses Saluted At Royal Randwick On Industry Celebration Day

Thoroughbred owners, their horses and trainers, and Australian Turf Club partners will be recognised at Royal Randwick this Saturday at the annual Owners Awards on Industry Celebration Day.

The ceremony in the Royal Randwick Owners Pavilion precedes a ten-race card – the final Saturday metropolitan meeting for the 2025/26 racing year.

The Australian Turf Club and Racing NSW will also acknowledge former NRL player Jai Arrow’s battle with Motor Neurone Disease by naming race 3 the Stand With Jai Midway.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs – for whom Jai played 98 games in a 178-game NRL career – will hold a function on the raceday.

Another NRL club partner of the ATC the Sydney Roosters will also host a function.

Categories and awards at the Owners Awards event for the 2025/26 season at ATC racecourses are:

• Most Starts by an individual racehorse – presented by Yulong
• Leading Individual Owner (By Wins) – presented by Coolmore
• Most Wins by an individual horse – presented by Inglis
• Leading Syndicator (By Wins) – presented by Kia Ora
• Special Achievement Award – presented by Arrowfield
• Breakthrough Performer – presented by Ranvet
• Australian Turf Club Ownership Award – presented by Darley
• Highest Successful Weight Carrier – presented by Vinery

Australian Turf Club CEO Steve McMahon said Saturday was an appropriate moment on the final Saturday of the season to thank and recognise owners and horses for their contribution and performance to Sydney racing.

“Owners play a vital role and pay for the upkeep and training of horses 52 weeks a year in their support of Sydney racing at our four racecourses,’’ Mr McMahon said.

“We are delighted to join with owners and industry to particularly recognise notable achievements across the board in one of the world’s strongest racing jurisdictions.

“The raceday is also an opportunity for the entire industry as well as punters and our Members to be thanked and recognised for the valuable role each sector plays.

“The ATC and Racing NSW are also pleased to recognise the courage of Jai Arrow and his family as they continue to inspire research and awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.’’

Saturday continues the ATC’s Winter Long Lunch offering – a three-course five-hour dining experience in Rosehill Gardens’ Winning Post Restaurant or Royal Randwick’s prestigious Chairman’s Club.

The Winter Long Lunch offer will run until the end of August and is available for both ATC Members and non-Members.
