Three Meetings Offer Punters and Owners A Long Weekend Of Action

22 January, 2026

The Australian Turf Club hosts three meetings at separate racecourses over the next four days including feature Saturday racing at Royal Randwick and a traditional Australia Day holiday long weekend event.

The Listed $200,000 Schweppes Carrington Stakes headlines a ten-race card at Royal Randwick on Saturday – ahead of the next 12 consecutive Saturdays of Group racing in Sydney and the looming Autumn Racing Carnival.

Monday sees the running of the Listed $200,000 Inglis Australia Day Cup at Warwick Farm, a raceday which offers free entry and a range of Aussie-flavoured food and beverage options to celebrate the national day.

Canterbury Park continues its Kia Friday Night Racing tomorrow evening – also offering free entry along with a range of food markets and free entertainment for children and families.

The three meetings combined have attracted 290 entries across 25 races.

Full fields for each of the meetings can be found here: Canterbury Park, Royal Randwick and Warwick Farm.

Full TAB Fixed Odds markets for the Friday and Saturday meetings are available here and here.

Australian Turf Club Head of Racing and Wagering Nevesh Ramdhani said the meetings offered punters, owners and stables alike many options to enjoy racing across Sydney.

“The long weekend and Kia Friday Night racing continue a very busy period for the ATC and Sydney racing during the summer holiday period,’’ Mr Ramdhani said.

“It allows owners and trainers, our Members and customers a variety of different days and atmospheres at three of our racecourses.

“We are also on the cusp of Sydney’s world-class Autumn, and this weekend marks less than 50 days to the official start of the Carnival.

“From next Saturday we begin 12 consecutive weeks of Group races and some of the most iconic events in world racing.’’

In Saturday’s Listed $200,000 Schweppes Carrington Stakes, Whinchat trained by David Pfieffer and ridden by Jay Ford opens a $3.50 TAB favourite.

Six other horses are next in betting ranging from $7-$11 TAB Fixed Odds in a race which promises good value for punters.
