Expect It All: The Big Dance On Cup Day Brought Midweek Energy, Excitement And Style To Sydney’s Ultimate Raceday

One of the most anticipated highlights of the Sydney Everest Carnival, The Big Dance on Cup Day transformed Royal Randwick on Tuesday 4 November into Sydney’s ultimate raceday destination, as racegoers swapped office attire for spring fashion and enjoyed an afternoon of live racing, entertainment and unforgettable moments.

A Celebration of Racing, Energy and Festivity

  • The Big Dance on Cup Day once again delivered a spectacular fusion of racing, style and social connection, bringing together colleagues, friends and fans for an exhilarating midweek celebration.
  • 4,000 people enjoyed corporate hospitality, while a last-minute rush on GA tickets saw hundreds sold in 24-hours leading into a huge day with 20,000 people trackside.
  • The headline event – the $3 million The Big Dance (1600m) – was the centrepiece of the day with Gringotts taking the win as crowds cheered trackside before the excitement continued into the evening with international entertainment and vibrant celebrations.

Electric Entertainment & Atmosphere

  • UK DJ Cassö lit up Royal Randwick’s After the Last concert, keeping the crowd on their feet with his viral hit “PRADA” and high-energy mixes that turned the racetrack into an open-air dance floor.
  • Guests were treated to premium hospitality experiences across the course, with the Peacock Lounge presented by Balter in the Winx Stand proving a crowd favourite. DJs, live music and signature serves kept the festival-like atmosphere alive all afternoon.
  • Celebrity chef George Mirosevich headlined the food offering with his now-famous Balter Beer-Battered Lobster Roll, a hit with racegoers seeking a flavour of indulgence between races.

Style & Indulgence on Show

  • The Pamper Pavilion buzzed all day with guests enjoying complimentary hair styling, makeup touchups from Runway Room, and live fashion sketches alongside a glass of Chandon on arrival.
  • Members indulged in trackside luxury at the Whispering Angel Garden and the Peppercorn with Penfolds pop-up, while all guests were invited to relax in the Chandon Spritz Garden, serving refreshing Chandon Garden Spritz in the Sydney sunshine.

On-Course Experiences & Brand Destinations

  • The Hard Rated Terrace made a vibrant debut on Level 1 of the Winx Stand, serving Hard Rated Orange in a lively trackside setting.
  • The TAB Stayers Lounge and Asahi Super Dry Bar offered unbeatable views of the racing, while Canadian Club served the ‘Perfect Serve’ of chilled CC & Dry over ice.
  • The Riders Club presented by Grey Goose brought a lively social energy to the Members Reserve, and Liquid I.V. kept guests hydrated with complimentary samples throughout the day and night.
