A guide to ATC Members Reserve dress standards, ensuring a refined and comfortable experience at the races.
Members Dress Code
Royal Randwick & Rosehill Gardens (excluding midweek racing)
The following dress code applies to all Members Reserve Areas on Saturday racedays at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick, as well as Cup Day at Royal Randwick.
Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.
Dress code applies for children 14 years and over.
Please note: To ensure an exceptional experience for all Members, the Members Reserve dress code must be observed. Entry may be declined if minimum standards are not met.
Fancy dress, including jockey outfits or apparel resembling official racing attire, is not permitted. Any attire deemed unsafe, misleading, offensive or likely to cause confusion may result in refusal of entry or a requirement to cloak items prior to entry, at the discretion of Australian Turf Club staff. Patrons who refuse to comply may be denied entry.
Ladies
Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the regulations of the Members Reserve. Dress code also applies to Members’ guests and those day guests in dining rooms and venues within the Members Reserve areas.
Please avoid wearing:
- Any form of the following footwear; joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, thongs, dilapidated footwear, scuffs, gumboots or slippers
- Jeans/denim, jodhpurs, shorts, untailored pants or playsuits
- Torn or ripped clothing
- Garments which show midriff
- Leggings worn as pants
- Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, denim jackets or anoraks
Gentlemen
Gentlemen are required to wear tailored pants, dress shoes, a collared shirt with a tie and either a jacket, sports coat or blazer in the Members areas at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens. This dress code extends to Members’ guests and day guests in dining rooms and venues within the Members Reserve areas. During daylight savings, jackets are optional, but ties are mandatory in the Members Reserve area. Members not wearing a tie will be required to purchase one from the Members Concierge.
The following will not be accepted to enter the Member Reserve:
- Any form of the following footwear; joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, sandals, thongs, dilapidated footwear, scuffs, gumboots or slippers
- Jeans/denim, jodhpurs, shorts or untailored slacks
- Torn or ripped clothing
- Open neck shirts or shirts with no collar
- Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, denim jackets or anoraks, leather bomber jackets
- Tracksuits
- Peaked caps, beanies
- Pullovers or cardigans (without a jacket), rugby tops and football jerseys
Members Relaxed
Warwick Farm, Canterbury Park and midweek racing at Rosehill Gardens & Royal Randwick
The following dress code applies to all racedays at Warwick Farm and midweek racedays at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick (excluding Cup Day in November).
Dress code applies for children 14 years and over.
Please note: All guests are required to meet the Members’ Reserve dress code. Entry may be refused if minimum standards are not met.
Ladies
Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the regulations of the Members Reserve. However, on midweek fixtures at Royal Randwick (excluding Cup Day in November) and Rosehill Gardens; and all fixtures at Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm, Ladies are permitted to wear jeans (without rips), chinos or untailored slacks.
For midweek race meetings at Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm only, dress shorts are permitted. This does exclude ripped, or sport shorts.
Please avoid wearing:
- Any form of the following footwear; joggers, sports shoes, track shoes, runners, thongs, dilapidated footwear, scuffs, gumboots or slippers
- Jodhpurs or playsuits
- Torn or ripped clothing
- Garments which show midriff
- Leggings worn as pants
- Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, tracksuit tops, denim jackets or anoraks
Gentlemen
Gentlemen are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the regulations of the Members Reserve.
On midweek fixtures at Royal Randwick (excluding Cup Day) and Rosehill Gardens as well as Kia Friday Nights at Canterbury Park, gentlemen are permitted to wear collared shirt, neat and tidy pants including jeans (without rips), chinos or untailored slacks.
Jackets and ties are optional but encouraged.
For midweek race meetings at Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm only, collared polo shirts as well as dress shorts are permitted. This does exclude ripped, or sport shorts.
