6 unmissable highlights on Silver Eagle Day

The Sydney Everest Carnival continues at Royal Randwick on Saturday for the $1 million Silver Eagle. An essential qualifying race where only the top three placegetters will gain a converted entry to the $10million Golden Eagle at Rosehill Gardens on 29 October.

Here are 6 things that are not to be missed when you are trackside. Gates open 11:15am for members and 11:30am for all other guests and the first race to be run at 12:35pm.

  1. Grab a TAB Everest Trophy opportunity

Have your photo snapped with the TAB Everest trophy outside the Queen Elizabeth II Grandstand near the Theatre of The Horse. This iconic masterpiece has been designed by Nic Cerrone and his team who partnered with Racing NSW to create this beautiful trophy worth $600k! The base has been crafted to replicate the actual Everest Mountain, while the racehorse comprises of approx. 550ct of black diamonds, 32 ct of white diamonds and two rubies for eyes. The $15 million TAB Everest, the world’s richest race on turf, is run at Royal Randwick on 15 October.

  1. Members Shoe Shining 11:00am -3:00pm

Bring your favourite shoes along for a unique experience, this complimentary shoe shining will get your best pair of dress shoes or heels looking like brand new. You will be looking sharper and feeling better.

  1. Glam up at the Glam House

Step inside The Glam House, a precinct to ensure you look your best all day long! With hair and make-up artists on hand for quick touch ups, a perfume parlour for a refresh, fashion illustrators ready to sketch your raceday look and race day essentials. Find out more here. 

  1. Check out the world-class Winx Stand

The impressive WINX Stand named after the legendary mare is open to all racegoers to enjoy.  The ground floor will feature DJ and food outlets which opens up on to the Leger lawn to get close to the racing action. Upstairs in The Gallery North Room will feature a sports bar with bespoke food offering and betting activation. While The Gallery South has DJs with cocktails and tapas. The open terrace is also home to the Happy Clapper Bar which has one of the best views on track. Watch here. 

  1. Silver Eagle – 4:50pm

The Silver Eagle will see the four-year-olds in action in the key lead-up to the $10 million Golden Eagle run at Rosehill Gardens on 29 October. Mr Mozart has drawn wide in barrier 18 for Team Hawkes but is rated by TAB as the horse to beat with Brenton Avdulla in the saddle.

  1. Furnace and the Fundamentals Concert
