2025 Fashion Stakes Winners Announced: Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day

Marking the spectacular grand finale of this year’s Fashion Stakes, Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day delivered an unforgettable fusion of racing prestige, high fashion, and springtime sophistication at Royal Randwick on Saturday, 25 October.

The Fashion Stakes Grand Finale lit up the Rose Garden Lawn, where two everyday Australians stole the spotlight, taking home the coveted titles of Best Suited and Best Dressed.

Just announced, Kalombo Ntumba, a commercial finance analyst, and Viera Macikova, a banking manager who lives just across the road from Royal Randwick, were crowned by style authority Kate Waterhouse, each receiving prizes valued at over $13,000.

Adding their expertise and fashion authority to the judging panel were Saskia Wotton (Muma World designer), Damien Woolnough-Reid (Fashion Editor, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age), and Kellie Hush (Chief Brand & Strategy Officer, The Volte).

Together, they brought the 2025 Fashion Stakes series to a stylish close – signing off Fashion Stakes, until next year’s return to the runway.

Entertainment & Atmosphere

• Racegoers revelled in a full day of entertainment and premium hospitality experiences. The Peacock Lounge presented by Balter in the Winx Stand brought festival energy to the track with DJs, live music and flowing beers and bubbles. Celebrity chef George Mirosevich delighted guests with his exclusive Balter Beer-Battered Lobster Roll.
• As the sun set, the After the Last concert series lit up Royal Randwick with an unmissable performance by Björn Again, the world’s #1 ABBA tribute band, keeping the crowd singing and dancing long after the final race.
