$20,000 Reward on offer to Sydneysiders, in City-Wide Search for the “Missing” Golden Slipper Trophy

3 March, 2026

The Australian Turf Club, in partnership with NOVA Entertainment, has announced a city-wide search for the 2026 Golden Slipper trophy after confirmation it is currently “missing.” Sydneysiders are invited to help track down the iconic trophy in time for this year’s race, with a $20,000 reward on offer.

Last seen during a media appearance yesterday, the trophy is now the focus of a public hunt. From Tuesday, 3 March to Friday, 13 March, listeners can tune into Nova 96.9’s  Fitzy, Wippa & Kate Drive show from 4 to 6pm as clues are revealed to assist in locating it.

The first person to successfully identify the trophy’s whereabouts will be announced live on air on Fitzy, Wippa & Kate and will receive $20,000 in cash, a replica Golden Slipper trophy, and a VIP experience at TAB Golden Slipper Day on Saturday, 21 March at Rosehill Gardens.

“This year marks 70 years of the Golden Slipper, and we wanted to celebrate in a way that invites the entire city to be part of the moment,” said Australian Turf Club’s Head of Commercial, Donna Forbes. “The Golden Slipper is more than a race – it’s woven into Sydney’s cultural fabric – and this is a fun way for everyone to join the celebration.”

Participation is open to all Sydney residents. To take part, listeners simply need to tune in to Nova 96.9 on weekdays from 4 to 6pm, follow the clues, and be the first to locate the trophy for their chance to win.
