$10 MILLION JAMES SQUIRE GOLDEN EAGLE SOARS FOR CHARITIES AT ROSEHILL GARDENS
November 2, 2023
A total of $1 million will be donated to a range of charities as 20 horses line up in Australia’s second richest race, the $10 million James Squire Golden Eagle at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
The Sydney Everest Carnival heads to Rosehill Gardens with the fifth running of the James Squire Golden Eagle attracting its strongest field yet and one of the highest rating races of the Spring.
Within the capacity 20-horse field are eight individual Group 1 winners and runners from across Australia and New Zealand, along with a runner for the first time from Japan and several European gallopers travelling to Australia.
Racing NSW has worked with the owners of each runner to select an individual charity with 10 per cent of any prizemoney earned by each horse donated – in the case of first place a $525,000 amount of the first place $5.25 million.

“James Squire Golden Eagle Day and Rosehill Gardens are taking the Sydney Spring to another level as we continue world-class racing through November.’’
General Admission tickets to Rosehill Gardens start from $30 online when pre-booked at theraces.com.au and include integrated transport across all NSW bus, train and ferry services on the day.
Star West Australian mare Amelia’s Jewel ($4.20 TAB) for trainer Simon Miller and jockey Damian Lane – and the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Hawaii Five Oh ($4.20 TAB) with jockey Nash Rawiller – are battling for favourtism in the $10 million James Squire Golden Eagle.
