The ultimate way to view the horses prior to a race, Royal Randwick’s Theatre of the Horse is one of Australia’s grandest modern tributes to thoroughbred racing.
Inspired by the world’s leading racetracks in the style of Royal Ascot, the Theatre of the Horse is one of the world’s leading mounting yards providing racegoers with the ultimate viewing experience to assess the way a horse is prepared and ready to race.
Prominently located on the City side of the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Grandstand, the horses are lead from the Ledger St Race Day Stalls, directly under the Longines Owner’s Pavilion and into the magnificent Theatre of the Horse. With viewing space for over 3,000 people, and all levels of the QEII Grandstand having exceptional viewing access, the proximity to the horses provides an almost indescribable sense of excitement and anticipation as the magnificent thoroughbreds prepare for the track.
From this purpose-built arena the horses are lead under the QEII Grandstand to the awaiting main straight of Royal Randwick where they launch into stride and proceed to the starting gates.
An experience not to be missed, the Theatre of the Horse is a must for all racegoers to immerse themselves in the action and excitement that racing is all about.
